Text Box: The 24-foot Launch Earlier this summer, the Admiralty Board approved plans for a 24-foot Launch, currently under construction at the Admiralty’s American Boatyard in Norfolk VA. She will be commissioned for service in 2010 and will be able to transport an entire squad of marines safely. Some statistics of the approved design: Length, on deck: 23’ 3” Length, overall when rigged: 30’ 9” Max Beam: 8’ 4” Draft, loaded: 19” Displacement: 2,440 lbs Capacity: 4,000 lbs See the CONSTRUCTION PHOTOS.
