TAKE THE KING'S SHILLING!
Text Box: Leadership

The founding members realized that in order to support future growth, the unit requires a structured central command to clearly delineate roles and responsibilities, to minimize potential conflict.

At the top of the command structure are our sponsors, or Trustees. Each Trustee acts on behalf of a significant monetary donation to the Lobsterback Society. The chief function of a Trustee is to elect directors to the Board of Directors and monitor the operations of the society in the interests of their contribution.

We are governed by a Board of Directors, appointed by the Trustees. Known within the group as the “Admiralty Board” is comprised of four Directors (Financial Director, Logistics Director, Historical Director, and a Public Relations Director). They are responsible to exercise high level command decisions to manage the Unit, such as:
Appointment of key personnel such as the Quartermaster and Officers of Marines.
Selection of events the group will attend;
Issuance of all general orders to participants pertaining to the approved events;
Enforcement of all Lobsterback Society Regulations and Bylaws.
	All members are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors upon election by the Trustees. No contributions are required to be appointed to the Board.

Military Command – Officers are appointed by the Admiralty Board to exercise full command of all participating members during events. Sergeants are qualified based on proven ability and experience. The qualification standards can be downloaded here. Military commanders carry out the written orders issued by the Admiralty Board for each event. All members are eligible to serve in any military rank, based upon experience and ability. No contributions are required to qualify for military rank.
